The l variants act on the name as it is now, through the pinned parent
(/proc/self/fd/<parent>/<name>), since a symlink is what they are for.
The others act on the object’s own /proc/self/fd link, which the
kernel resolves to the inode, once the object is seen not to be a symlink
swapped in after the walk.
